Privacy Policy

When you sign in, we ask Discord for the identify scope and nothing else. That gives us:

• Your Discord user ID — the stable number everything here is keyed on.
• Your username, display name and avatar — so the site can show who you are.

We deliberately do not request your email address. The email scope is not asked for, Discord does not send us one, and the addresses collected before this was tightened have been deleted. We also do not request the guilds scope: to check you are in our server, the bot looks at the server’s own member list, which needs no permission from you.

Inside the Discord server, the bot sees what any bot sees in the channels it can read. It records activity counters rather than the content of your messages — see below.

Held in our own database, tied to your Discord ID:

• Account — Discord ID, username, avatar, your staff/role flags, when you signed up, last sign-in and last time you had the site open, and whether you have left or been removed from the server.
• Profile — anything you choose to put there: tagline, bio, banner image, accent colour, favourite games, featured stats, badges and a linked profile song.
• Things you post — wall posts and comments, blog posts, album reviews, question-of-the-day answers, tournament signups, event RSVPs, map notes and pins, birthday gifts you send.
• Direct messages — the messages you send other members on the site, who you have blocked, and any message you report to staff. These are stored unencrypted in our database, which means staff can technically read them. They are not a private channel — do not put anything sensitive in them.
• Linked gaming accounts — if you choose to link one, we store the platform’s own account ID, your display name there and your public profile URL. Supported platforms are Twitch, Steam, Xbox, Epic, Battle.net, Bungie and Roblox. We never receive your password for any of them.
• Site activity — notifications, your notification preferences, blog post view counts, and a staff activity log of administrative actions.
• Sign-in sessions — a session record and the OAuth tokens Discord issues, so you stay signed in.
• Uploads — images you upload, such as a profile banner, stored in our file storage.

Held in the Stereon bot’s own database, tied to your Discord ID:

• Levels and activity counters — message count, voice minutes, reactions added, threads created and giveaways entered. These are counts, not content — the bot does not keep a copy of what you said in Discord.
• Economy — your coin balance and the ledger of how it changed.
• Achievements, teams and tournaments — what you have unlocked, the teams you are on, your signups, results and applications.
• Game handles and stats — in-game names you tell the bot, and for supported games the ranks, mastery and match history the game’s own public API returns for those handles.
• Birthday — only if you give it to the bot, so it can wish you a happy one.
• Server bookkeeping — starboard entries, question-of-the-day answers, and which invite link you joined through.

To sign you in and confirm you are a member of the community; to run the features you use — profiles, leaderboards, levels, coins, tournaments, messages; to keep the place safe by letting staff moderate and respond to reports; and to fix things when they break. That is the whole list. There is no analytics product, no advertising, and no profiling beyond the leaderboards you can see for yourself.

• Other members — your profile, posts, reviews, ranks and leaderboard positions are visible to the community. You can hide your profile page in your settings, and you can turn off read receipts on messages.
• Staff — administrators can see member records, moderation history and reported content in order to run the server.
• Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We would only disclose it if we were legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect someone from harm.

Some Discord roles are earned. If you choose to verify at deadmanschestgaming.com/linked-roles, we send Discord five facts about you so it can decide whether you qualify:

• Your server level and message count — two numbers, not your messages.
• The date you joined the server.  
• Whether you have a website account — yes or no.
• Whether you joined through the website’s invite link — yes or no.

Nothing is sent unless you go through that page and approve it, and Discord compares the values against thresholds a server admin set — we never learn which roles exist or which you received.

So that a role you grow into arrives on its own, approving also lets us keep those values current: we store the access token Discord issues and refresh the numbers about once a day. The token is kept the same way your sign-in tokens are — never shown to anyone, never sent to your browser. Revoke it whenever you like from Discord’s Authorised Apps settings; we delete our copy as soon as we find it no longer works.

• Discord — sign-in, the server itself, and everything the bot does.
• Supabase — our database and file storage.
• Northflank — hosting for the website.
• Resend — delivers the contact and support emails you send us. Only what you type into that form, plus a reply address if you give one.
• Game and streaming platforms — Riot Games, Steam, Twitch, Xbox, Epic, Battle.net, Bungie and Roblox, for the account linking and stats described above.
• Spotify and YouTube — if you set a profile song, their embedded player loads on that profile and they may set their own cookies for anyone viewing it.

Each has its own privacy policy. Some are based outside your country, so your data may be processed elsewhere, including the United States.

We set cookies for one reason: keeping you signed in and keeping the sign-in process secure. There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site. If you install the site as an app, it also stores data locally in your browser so it can work offline.

If you leave the Discord server your account is marked dormant rather than deleted, so that rejoining picks up where you left off instead of starting from nothing. Records are otherwise kept while the community runs. Staff can permanently purge the records of a banned member.

• See it — most of what we hold is already on your profile and settings pages. Ask us for the rest.
• Change it — profile, linked accounts, privacy toggles and notification preferences are all editable by you, and you can unlink a gaming account at any time.
• Delete it — ask and we will remove your account and the data tied to it. Some things cannot be fully unwound — a comment thread others replied to, or moderation records we need to keep the server safe — and we will tell you if that applies.
• Withdraw consent — leaving the Discord server ends the bot’s collection about you, and you can revoke the website’s access from Discord’s own Authorised Apps settings.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We will honour them; just ask.

The service is for adults. Our Discord server is 18+, and the website is closed to anyone tagged under 18 — signing in is refused and any existing session ends. Their data is not deleted automatically when that happens; ask us and we will remove it.

Separately, we do not knowingly hold data about anyone under 13, which is Discord’s own minimum age, or older where local law requires. We will delete it if we find any. If you believe a child’s data is here, contact us and we will remove it.

Data is held in access-controlled hosted databases, transferred over HTTPS, and reached only by the site, the bot and staff who need it. We take it seriously, but no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee it — which is the honest reason for the warning about direct messages above.

We will update this page when what we collect changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and a significant change will be announced in the Discord server.
